This 5-day intensive course offers you an opportunity to gain a deeper working understanding of the international Art Therapy training both with individuals and various client groups. Target Audience: The course is targeted at ALL ADULTS including professionals, mental health practitioners, therapists, social workers, OT's, educators, artists, parents and students who are interested in and want to learn about Art Therapy. What do I gain from the course? The skills and experiences gained by participants on the course can be adapted to and incorporated in many professional work spheres such as various therapeutic interventions, teaching art, the running of groups with children or adults, corporate facilitation, and coaching to name but a few. The course also provides an invaluable opportunity for enhancing creative and personal insight, exploration and growth, self-reflection as well as learning through group interaction. NO art skill is necessary in order to benefit from the course. Everyone has the ability to be creative through art! The Art Therapy 5-day course is comprised of the folowing modules daily: 1: Art Therapy theory and psychodynamic literature 2: Case studies examples with children, adults, autism, psychosis and more 3: Experiential art making and journaling Art Therapy in groups is a highly effective, powerful and dynamic process. Working within a group format encourages the learning of new and inspiring creative uses of various mediums as a means of expression. Interaction with other group members provides an opportunity for sharing of feedback and insights around the image making process thereby enhancing the learning experience. Although the facilitating Art Therapist follows a psychodynamic approach, an eclectic tool kit is used when appropriate and includes a combination of Art Therapy interventions, coaching, archetypes and numerology.
